I also want to complain about Kohl's 'misleading advertising'. Seems that their % off coupons and 'Kohl's bucks' MUST be used for merchandise that you CHARGE on your Kohl's charge card.

Convenient for them huh? I happen to feel that using charge cards, especially being forced to use a charge card is against my personal choice and preference. If I see a good deal and have coupons to help for the purchase, I want to pay CASH or I don't need it! You don't have that option????

thought this was a free country? Guess not, Liars!

Monetary Loss: $100.

** THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS KING **

I was aware of Kohls pricing "games" a long time ago. However because I have a Kohls Credit Card, I also receive their $XX Off "anything" coupon in my mailbox and I also get Kohls coupons in my EMAIL and I also receive Kohls coupons in the Newspapers.

THESE COUPONS CAN BE COMBINED TOGETHER FOR "ONE PURCHASE" .... IT IS PART OF COUPON KOHLS POLICY. i.e. Coupon for $5.00 plus $10.00 plus 20% off are all separate Offers that can be combined, for one purchase of $30.00 of Merchandise.

USE THESE COUPONS ON THEIR SO-CALLED "SALES PRICES" -- AND SEE WHAT YOUR NET CASH PAID WILL BE, BEFORE YOU BUY THE STUFF.

The BEST way to shop at KOHLS is FIRST "decide what you want" ...

Let's say that you want JEANS, well just make sure you buy only BRAND NAME JEANS (like Lees, Levi's, etc) and then compare those prices with JC Penny, Walmart and etc. Then deduct the Brand Name Jeans "price" with the KOHLS coupons and see what your CASH price will be..... If you end up paying just $5.00 for a pair of Lees Jeans priced at $40.00 .... THEN YOU PAID $5.00 or less (sometimes).

***WHAT IS THE "NET CASH" YOU PAID ??? WAS IT WORTH BUYING ??? ***

*** DON'T BUY THINGS THAT YOU DON'T REALLY WANT .. WASTE OF YOUR MONEY"*** BE A COMPARISON SHOPPER ....

OR ELSE "DO NOT BUY" THE STUFF .. JUST WAIT IT OUT.

You can keep an eye on Kohls prices on their website and keep checking for SALE "Prices" and check the EXPIRATION DATES on your coupon(S) and the apply all the COUPONS on that purchase -- either ONLINE or at the STORE ..... If you only paid a few dollars for BRAND NAME CLOTHES ... THEN YOU DID OK .....

HOWEVER IF THE KOHLS COUPONS DO NOT HELP YOU ..THEN DO NOT USE THEM and DO NOT BUY WHAT YOU WANTED AT KOHLS .... ** The REALITY IS THAT THE NET CASH PRICES AT WALMART ARE "ALOT CHEAPER" ... It's a FACT. ** WALMART DOES PRICE-MATCHING WITH ANYONE ..

KOHLS, JCPenny,Target, etc. *** There are other tactics you can use to SAVE MONEY ... BUYING WHAT YOU WANT AND IN THE SIZE YOU WANT ... AND THEN WAIT FOR A SALE ...

RETURN THE ITEM AT THE SERVICE COUNTER AND THEN BUY IT RIGHT BACK AT "THAT DAY'S SALE PRICE" .. KOHLS, WALMART, JCPenny, TARGET, etc, etc .... All Allow that ... IN THE END ...

RETAILERS NEED TO MOVE (SELL) INVENTORY .. BECAUSE THEY HAVE MADE PURCHASE COMMITMENTS TO BUY MILLIONS$$ of DOLLARS$$ of MERCHANDISE ... AND THEY MUST MUST MUST SELL THAT STUFF .... or they will LOSE their CONTRACTS with all the Manufacturers.

** THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS KING .. ALWAYS,ALWAYS AND ALWAYS **

No. The employees and managers deserve the same respect. There are plenty of customers that are way out of line.

Yes it is ***!!! Outsourcing, greedy, liars...screwing Americans to grease their own pockets.

If they steal $10 this way from 1 million people they just stole $10 million. How sad that the integrity of American businesses has left.

And WE will NEVER shop there again. :(

Only 90% off is a deal at kohls. clearance at 80% plus Kohls cash and Kohls coupons are the only real deals at Kohls.

Guest

Kohls sucks. Kohls coupons sucks. Kohls sucks

Guest

Heres the deal. Your using a $10 in Kohls Cash ONLY. You can pay with cash, check, credit card, etc.

Using Kohl's Cash and with a 30% or a pick a day: MUST GO ON CARD.

Its simple, READ THE COUPONS. Its printed right on their that you must or must not use your card. Sides you can turn around pay with cash or check right after the transaction. Think as the card as medium. Of course, we are going to require to use your Kohls card with the 30%. Thats how the company makes money. Be smart and be responsible. You are all adults, I assume.

First off, your complaint makes no sense whatsoever! Secondly, when you are redeeming the Kohl's Cash you can use any form of tender to pay the remaining balance, unless if you are using a % off coupon that requires you to use your Kohl's charge (i.e.

Pick-a-Day coupon, promotional offers such as the 30-20-15 percent events, etc). I'll bet you were wanting to use the Kohl's Cash in conjunction with a Kohl's charge offer and are just coming on here to pitch a fit!

Are sales really as good as they seem?

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- With big sales and deep discounts, it seems like it's always easy to find something on sale at Kohl's. But are the prices really as good as they seem?

"I like to shop here because they have all kinds of specials. I get the discounts, you know, in the mail and that helps a lot with the budget," Kohl's shopper Shelly Harrill said.

And shopper Sherdenia Weaver told me she saved $47.52 during her trip to the major retailer.

But are the savings really as much as you think?

We went shopping undercover to several Triangle-area Kohl's stores checking price tags. It was the price tags that surprised us. We found more than one sticker on many items, with the price tag on top going up instead of down, even though the items were on sale.

We found markups as little as $2, but some were as high as $50.

In the bedding department there was a comforter set on sale for 50% off the sticker price of $139.99. Underneath that sticker was a price tag for $119.99, a $20 increase in price.

There was a clock listed at 55% off $99.99, but underneath that sticker was a price tag $10 cheaper at $89.99.

We spotted another price increase with a photo album that's 55% off. The price tag on top was $29.99, but we peeled that back and found a sticker for $21.99, an $8 difference.

But this wasn't just on house goods. On a pair of $30 athletic pants, there was a price tag underneath for $2 cheaper at $28 bucks.

We also found price hikes on items not on sale. A Kitchen Aid mixer's sticker price said $549.99, but when we peeled that bag there was a price tag for $50 cheaper at $499.99.

Right in the middle of our months-long investigation, Kohl's started changing the majority of their tags to electronic pricing. Still, we found discrepancies.

On a coffee maker the old paper price tag said $129.99, but the new electronic price tag right next to it said it costs $10 more at $139.99.

When we went to check out, we asked for the lower price with the bedding set. The top sticker said $139.99, but the sticker beneath was $20 cheaper.

Undercover shopper: "We noticed that under the sticker here there's a different price."

Cashier: "Right, that's why they put that other one over top of it. It was probably a price change."

Undercover shopper: "But its lower. This one is $119, that's $139

Cashier: "That's lower than this one?"

Undercover shopper: "Yeah, that's $139."

Cashier: "Right, it was probably a mark up, so they put it over the old UPC."

When we asked why there was a mark-up, the manager said, "The price of cotton goes up, so all our new product, the same one, like we might have had this one, but we get shipped new ones. The vendor actually says the new retail is $139 because cotton prices went up 70% in the last six months. So it's more expensive for us to make. And it's just like anything else that goes up in price, like a car from one year to the next year."

Our undercover shopper asked if Kohl's would take 50% off the old price and the manager did. But once we got the bedding outside of the store and took a closer look, we realized that the bedding was not cotton, it was 100% polyester.

Our investigation continued at the Kohl's at Brier Creek. We asked if we could be charged the sale price on a pot and pan set off the bottom sticker of $119.99 as opposed to the top sticker which was $30 more at $149.99.

Cashier: "The 30% is taken off of the original price, which was $149 and that brought it down to $99."

Undercover shopper: "Ohhh. But if $149 is the original price, then why would a price tag below it be, because obviously $119 was put on first because it's below it."

Cashier: It's probably an early bird special or something, a different kind of a discount program. Sometimes we have these programs on a Friday evening or a Saturday morning that are what they call early birds, extra discounts."

But once we asked more questions, the manager stepped in and told us the price increase was actually because of the manufacturer.

I reached out to Kohl's corporate headquarters in Wisconsin and was told, "When determining pricing, including any necessary price changes, the buyers consider a number of factors, including the regular prices of Kohl's competitors for similar merchandise as well as Kohl's costs for the goods being sold& changes to Kohl's "off-sale" prices are infrequently made. While the percentage discount offered may vary from sale event to sale event, Kohl's does not raise "Regular" or "Original" prices on a short term basis just for purposes of offering deeper discounts during a future sales event. As is common in the retail industry, from time-to-time, product prices are increased due to production and raw material cost increases. When these types of price increases are implemented, our stores are instructed to re-ticket all items currently in our inventory to match the prices on the tags for all in-coming merchandise."

Kohl's also adds they, "constantly evaluate our competitors' pricing for similar products and are confident that Kohl's pricing remains competitive in the department store marketplace."

They encourage any customers that may be unhappy with their purchases for any reason to take advantage of Kohl's quick, convenient and hassle-free return policy.

When you're shopping this holiday season, you will see lots of sales, but look closely to see if the price you're paying is really the lowest.

All stores do this. They are item mark ups.

They aren't done before a sale or anything. What happens is the cost of the goods to the retailer increases and new merchandise will come in with the higher price. If a store has any of the old ticketed merchandise on hand they mark it up to match the new merchandise coming in.

That is to avoid situation above. Nothing sneaky going on.

Thanks for letting us know how KOHLS is not ripping off it customers. I am sure you have a very good understanding of what KOHLS does and all other retailers.

KOHLS has been changing prices for years and years that is true noting new about that.

One day a shirt is 30.00 dollars the next day the same exact shirt is 50.00 dollars but wait the day that it goes up to 50.00 dollars I have a 30% off coupon so what is the deal. FRAUD ALL THE WAY AROUND But thanks DIANE for letting us know how wonderful KOHLS REALLY IS

How in the world is running sales a fraud? Sure, the shirt may be on sale for 30 one day, and then not on sale another. Did you know that many states restrict the number of days that an item can be "on sale'?

Stores use sales and percent coupons to attract customers. Ask JC Penney how well stopping that practice has worked for them.

Yes, stores change prices as the cost to them goes up. Did you ever notice that prices in your local grocery store go up?

@ goldensmom

it is a free country. Kohls is free to set the rules that they want to establish and the custmer is free to shop where they want. Just b/c you don't like the rules doesn't mean that Kohls must cater to you.

Do not give Kohls gift cards. they required you to charge a percentage of your purchase in order to used a coupon.

why would I charge my purchase when someone gave me a GIFT "GIFT CARD" Do not give Kohls gift cards.

Guest

Don't and I mean Don't get a credit card at KOHLS they will ruin your credit. signed up for online payments.

I pay the bill got a confirmation of my online payment and guess what I went to collections for not paying my bill in full even through I had a confirmation of full payment. Some how my payment didn't come out of my bank. I have seen this same complaint on other sites as well. It seems to be what this company does to make money.

very sad.

customer service hangs up on you can not get to a supervisor. DON'T GET CREDIT CARD AT KOHLS!!!

maybe your payment did not come out of your bank b/c there were insufficient funds available to pay it. It's pretty sad to blame a company when you can't manage your money.

Actually, the *** one would be the one that has a mark on their credit b/c they could not afford to make their payment. If there is no money in the account, it is a no-brainer not to make a payment.

Really!! Had a confirmation printed out.

KOHLS FAULT and could prove it. LET ME SAY AGAIN KOHLS FAULT (WHERE WOULD YOU COME UP WiTH INSUFFICENT FUNDS that would cause an overdraft fee or a bounced check fee. Not non payments.

KOHLS IS SCAMMING IT CREDIT CARD HOLDERS AND IT IS PROVABLE IF CUSTOMERS WOULD PRINT OUT THE CONFIRMATIONS THEY RECEIVE. Computers are great but having it on paper even better to prove FRAUD!!
