Kohl's Has No Respect For Their Loyal Customers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I placed an order and never received it. I contacted Kohl's and was told to look for it and ask neighbors if they had seen it.

I could not track down the apparently mis-shipped package. In the mean time, Kohl's billed me for it and then continually added late fees. I went on the web site and explained the situation. They continued to bill and add late fees.

I sent e-mails, made numerous calls and even went to the customer service counter at the local Kohl's store. Same results. Kohl's never disputed that the package was not delivered to me, they just insisted that I pay for it and the late fees anyway, because apparently that's the way Kohl's treats their loyal customers. This went on for 3 or 4 months.

Finally, I got the email address of a Kohl's executive and explained what had been going on. I was copied on the email that he sent to the customer service department instructing them to remove the charges for the order that I never received. They did, but left the late fees for me to pay. After a few more weeks of calls and emails, I finally got to speak to an actual concerned customer agent.

That is extremely rare with Kohl's customer service team. She finally removed the late fees and cleared my bill. Even though it has been a horrific experience, I was determined to continue shopping Kohl's, as it has been my favorite place for many years. But then recently I went on Credit Karma and found that Kohl's has reported a late payment on my credit report.

Of course I disputed it with an explanation of what led to this fraudulent report entry but was told that Kohl's felt that it is a accurate reflection of my credit worthiness. Then yesterday, I received a letter in the mail from Kohl's Customer Service an Operations Center (unsigned) which states the following: RE: Kohl's Credit Card # XXX-XXX-8079 Dear Daniel B Greenwell, Thank you for contacting us regarding the above-referenced Kohl's credit card account issued by Capital One, N.A. We have reviewed your account related to your concerns regarding information appearing on your credit report. We have determined that the information previously furnished to the credit reporting agencies is accurate.

Updating the information as you have requested will create an inaccurate representation of the status of your account with us. The integrity of the credit reporting system relies on the validity of the information furnished; therefore, we are unable to comply with your request to update this information with the credit reporting agencies. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. Please contact Kohl's Customer Service at 1-80*-564-**** if you have further questions or concerns regarding this matter.

Sincerely, Kohl's Customer Service and Operations Center I have been a loyal customer of Kohl's for many years, even suggesting to many friends and family that they shop there. But I have spent months clearing my account, even though the only thing that I did wrong was to place an order with Kohl's and refuse to pay when I never received it. Kohl's expects their customers to pay for Kohl's mistakes. As for the customer service, if they would have actually looked into this matter they would have seen that it was a Kohl's mistake and removed it from my credit report.

Look at all of the aggravation I have endured and the time and trouble I have put into this issue that is a Kohl's screw up.

So I say to you, Cut up your Kohl's card and stop giving your money to an organization that will treat you badly just for being a customer. Believe me, it's not worth it.

This is a lot of work you did just so you can get some free stuff from the store. Do you do this to all places? Get a job and stop ripping this store off.

No cash rewards

I was hoping to do my department store shoping at Kohls, rather than onliine at Amazon. So I made 2 trips to Koh's right after Christmas, purchasing $90 and $70 of merchandise. THen I waited for my 'cash back' which was either 5 or 10 dollars. I never got the reward, so after 10 minutes on 'chat' and 20 minutes on hold, Ilearned that unless I phoned and had my register receipt I could not get credit. WHY? Because I DID NOT REMIND THE CASHIER TO GIVE ME POINTS. USER ERROR, of course. If I had used a Kohl's credit card it would be easy... I say, back to the Amazons, and give up on the local shop.

The OP needs to blame someone else so they don’t take FULL responsibility for their error. It amazes me at how petty and small a lot of females can be.

It’s 100% the OPs fault but blaming Kohl’s for not doing what she thinks they should have done makes her feel better.

She is transferring her anger at herself and only taking a small part of the blame because she needs to in order to function. It is literally her way of dealing with her short comings.

Guest

So why are you coming on here and complaining if you knew that it was your error for not speaking up and having the cashier enter your phone number or e-mail address to earn your Yes2You points? You can't blame Kohl's for YOUR error.

Guest

So that is the Yes2You rewards, which you must agree to sign up for at the register and then you’ll get points on the first week of every month, via email, for every $100 spent. You would be at just a $5 reward.

Technically it’s a bounce back coupon, to get you to return and buy more. No one comes into a store and spends just $5, you’ll spend more.

Guest

If you are talking about Kohl's cash they hand you the coupon at the register if you have one coming. Many of their promotions require you make the purchase with a Kohl's card.

The only promotion requiring a KC is the scratch off. No other discount or promotion requires a KC to get and use.

Incorrect. The mailers also require using a Kohls Charge in some cases.

Does KC mean Kohls Cash or Kohls Card

Kohl's Credit card NOT worth the headaches!

This is the worst credit card ever!! They never mailed me an actual credit card, So I only had that tiny slip of paper with my account number, which I unfortunately lost 6 months later.

I literally could not access my account to make a payment. Even after calling and giving my SS# and DOB, I still could not get my Account Number. I dealt with customer service in the Philippines and was cut off. Then, someone from Mexico City who actually lied and told me he would email my account number.

Finally, I finally got a customer service rep in Wisconsin who was able to help, but that was a whole lot of wasted time and frustration just to pay my bill and give Kohls money. Maybe this company should think about keeping its customer service in the USA where the operators actually care about their customers. It was a complete disservice to outsource my call to these other operators who were not helpful at all and literally lied. This Kohls credit card is not worth the hassle!

Don't bother with it.

You can still gt Kohl's Cash and coupons without this credit card. Don't waste your time.

Kohls is not the card issuer, it is capital one. Did you receive a disclosure agreement, should have been given one when applying for credit. If you don't have, get one at store.

At the store, you can get card number with photo Id and ssn. You will receive a paper like the one you lost.

I can't understand what you are trying to say. And you couldn't understand the sales person. You know why, because you are too stupid.

You need to go back to elementary grade school and learn spelling and grammar. After that, don't produce kids cause you don't want to continue this madness do you? Stop the generation before it is too late!

I am sure someone in your family has already done this themselves. But you need to continue stopping this and get more schooling before it is too late.

DiversifiedOrNo

Kohls - DiversifiedOrNo
I've been trying to get a recruit to contact me back at Kohl's for an internship position. I'm in college right now taking up Business Administration this is my sophomore year and I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and I'm flabbergasted that when I go to the Kohl's instagram page of 2018 internship recruits I see no diversity what so ever. They never even reached out to me to provide me with more information like they said they would. I have all the qualifications for this internship position and hope it's not because of my color as to why I haven't been contacted but I don't know what else to think. My school said they would look into this situation with Kohl's because they have had other students say the same thing. The students are outstanding academically and personally. They're hoping that discrimination is not the issue in any of the cases as to why the students haven't been choosing to work in the Corporate office positions but we will see.

HAHA! Stop saying everything is because of your color!

You probably just have a bad personality. Whatever it is, of course you won't tell us, because you are ashamed of it! Own up to it, live on and stop lying and making up ***. Its time to stop putting out the color card.

"I see no diversity." Well duh! How many people out there of color do you see vs the white population that are working. So little! Because they get paid from the government so they don't "have to" work!

Thus, that is why you see less of them.

Not because of color, but because they don't want to work! Just go through the application process and if you don't get in, suck it up. Find another place to go. Get over it.

You are in college now, and it is time to act like an adult! Stop complaining like a brat and work on your college degree. You're smart - you have a 4.0 GPA. Something like this shouldn't stop you from re-applying.

Maybe there was a lot of candidates and you just didn't get picked.

It happens! Move on.

Agree with the other comments. If you would have returned the jeans without a receipt, then you would have gotten a refund for what the lowest selling price has been for those jeans.

That means you would have gotten less back than what you paid for them. And then you would be on here pitching the same fit!

Guest

If you return your item without a receipt you will get the lowest sale price. Meaning if you paid $50 for the jeans and the price was now only $30.

You're gonna only get the $30. Then when that upsets you, what are you gonna do?

Guest

And that would be committing fraud , what a wonderful amazing parent you must be if that is what you choose to teach your child.

Out of stock & no call back

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Kohl's had their Playtex 18 hour bras on sale and purchase five bras, all the bras where of different colors. The problem is after kohl's accepted my order, a few days later, they said one item was out of stock and they automatically reduced the order to four, then shipped the order from two different locations.

You would think they would had contacted me to see if I wanted to change my order to a different color but oh no, they just went ahead and changed the order themselves. Who is the customer here, guess it's not me. I paid by credit card and did they ever send a notice that they return the cost of one bra back to the credit card.

The answer to this is H*** no, now I will need to track this all down. This could all been avoided by just getting in contact with me as I would had just change the color of the bra.

As a seasonal worker and working in the women's department the two things that I found highly disturbing about Kohl's is #1 they let customers try on bra's and #2 also panties ... Then they repackage these items and sell them to others ...

I don't know about you but I would rather purchase my undergarments in person and from a store who DOESNT even allow opened and used undergarments to be returned or tried on in the store ... That's just GROSS !!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Friday shopping was as expected and clothes out of place was also expected. I went up to representative in a red shirt think her name tag said Megan, she kept it covered most of the time. Told her having trouble finding a particular ad product. She waved to area where I further said I’ve been in that area looking for 20 minutes . Even if busy she wore a microphone so could have requested other representative to come help but she turned dismissing me. Other representatives went out of their way later when I found someone else. The shirt looking for wasn’t found by the second representative either but she offered to help me order online if wanted. This was what I had expected from the first representative. Store wasn’t that busy and customer service should be a priority for any store. Every customer should leave knowing store has put its best foot forward. Megan needs to take a lesson from others. Every customer counts and no representative should feel they are too good to step off their pedestal and help out when needed.

What does the fact that the associate named "Megan" had on a red shirt have to do with anything? Associates get pulled in different directions and it's possible "Megan" was tied up with something or was on her way to help another customer. Besides, if you were that bent of shape about the service you received, why didn't you speak to a manager in the store instead of coming on here to post a complaint that no one at Kohl's is going to see or that no one could give two s$%^s about?

Guest

Umm...next time you should tell me that. You just nodded and left to look there.

Don't start lying online like no one will know. We know what happened!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Alarm magnet left on Christmas gift, i arrive home after my hour commutome from the store 1 way, to find the cashier didn't remove their alarm magnet. Not only did it get missed, the alarm did not pick it up so the error could be caught.

so I call and ask how to get it off, i am then told to hit it with a hammer.... doesn't work. After transfering me a few times a manager gets on the line and tells me its human error and there is nothing they can do... Christmas Eve.

No gift for 1 member of the family due to this and then tells me to drive it back?? We are in a winter advisory I say, her reply, there is nothing i can do over the phone. I say it is impossible to see and I went 30 mph hr to get home. I again told her i have to be up at 6am and again i get the same response.

It is human error we all make mistakes.

No apology no offer to overnight a replacement and ship other back. Pure incompetence.

OMG! You want them to kill themselves to give you a replacement!

Winter advisory! You said it!

It can cost up to $2000 for critical UPS packages to be delivered depending on the weather! You idiot.

Tylah Rjd

Unlike others that comment on this site, I try to be helpful and not bash posters in the comments, but I draw the line here. "no offer to overnight a replacement and ship other back" Really?

REALLY? How entitled are you? People do make mistakes. Your cashier was probably a seasonal hire, and new with little experience.

You have to be a little forgiving. Not even the CEO could remove that device over the phone.

Maybe overnighting a replacement is a bit much to expect of any retail establishment. How would they even get a carrier to pick up on Christmas eve?

Guest

Agree with what the manager stated. Mistakes happen.

No need to get all bent out of shape about it. What makes you think they can mysteriously remove a security sensor from your item over the phone? The only way to remove it is by way of the magnetic devices they have at the store. And what in the world makes you think they should just up and overnight a replacement to you BEFORE you actually return your item?

Don't be ridiculous! To reiterate what the manager stated....."It is human error.

We all make mistakes." You can't tell me you haven't made one mistake in your life. You sound dumb!

I received my online order on 11/29/17. It was a pair of sneakers that was shipped in a bag instead of a box so that the box the sneakers come in wouldn't get ruined during delivery. The box was so severely damaged I was disgusted. I didn't want to even touch it. Other things were also just thrown in and not properly packaged. I call to report it and was told someone would get back to me and that I had to return to the store if I wanted a better box! He assured me that someone would call and make good on it. Wrong! Two days later and I call back and what they offered was free shipping on my next order and $20 OFF. Really ? Any other company would have immediately taken a % off at least. Like I would be making any other purchases with them. NOT. I'll stick to Amazon!

Promo offered for Kohl’s cash but not honored.... absolutely horrible customer service and tried to explain that even though my order shows I earned hundreds of dollars of Kohl’s cash ... they wouldn’t honor it because THEY re crested a new order the next day out of the promo period. Absolutely horrible to deal with spent hours on phone with them and will be very glad to return the item as soon as it is received. And then I will go to the business that I should have from the beginning....so long Kohl’s

I received an item with a security tag still in place. I called Customer service and was told I can send the item back for no charge, but I’ll have to pay shipping for the exchange.

I questioned this and even asked to speak to a manager who rudely replied that I can just go to the store. I told the person there was no nearest Kohl’s, why do you think I ordered the item on line.

She proceeds to check store locations and tells me where I can go, but their policy is I’d still have to pay for the shipping, even though it was their mistake. I’m just so disgusted with the service I received and I think there should be a better policy in place when Kohl’s is the one messing up the orders not the customers.

We had a lot of customers come in with this same problem ... When you order online the pickers job is to remove all devices from items ...

That's sloppy work when NOT done correctly ... And its an annoyance for the customer I agree ...
