Kohls - Dressing room cameras!!
I went to view my reflection in the mirror of a dressing room and instead a camera caught my eye!! The camera is placed in plain view of the dressing room.
If I can see it, it can see me!! This is disgusting. It seems as if they have no problem watching you undress - sick. I will not shop here anymore.
I advise warning your teen children who shop alone not to shop here!! This company is just plain disgusting.
A 17 year old girl has said she saw a video of her changing in the store. I don't care what their purpose - this is wrong.
Reason of review: I am absolutely disgusted.
Preferred solution: Remove the photo. This photo will be tweeted and the photo will be passed around the web as often as possible (along with the other photos already online of Khols dressing room cams) within the next two weeks. .
Location: Lake Worth, Texas

You actually are allowed legally to be filmed, but it is not distributed and the data from that day is destroyed usually a week later. Also, there is something called assumption of risk usually used in product liability cases, but here, you see the camera, and you choose to undress anyway.
Not to mention you never see the video unless you are caught.
I used to work for JCP and the LP guy informed me of all sorts of rules and laws. It's your choice to be uninformed, but don't be rude about it.
First of all, any cameras you see near the fitting rooms can't actually see inside of the fitting rooms themselves. Like others have said, the cameras may either be non-existent cameras to help with preventing theft or the cameras may simply be monitoring the fitting room area outside of the actual fitting rooms.
Theft happens and since you admitted that your daughter got caught stealing, you are simply coming on here to blame Kohl's instead of taking responsibility for your daughter's actions. Pretty pathetic parenting if you as me.
Learn to educate yourself about the cameras in the stores and why they are there. Time to start taking responsibility instead of making ASSumptions!
You are ignorant. I am not old enough to have a 17 year old daughter.
I read about that while trying to see if others had the same experience. If you knew how to read and comprehend what you read you would have understood this. I, an adult, saw this camera myself. Your comment is nonsensical.
You are also quite wrong. You must love shopping at Khols quite a lot to defend this when you did not even witness it. If you were not there, you do not know if it happened.
You are in fact wrong. Check the penal code; it is legal albeit disgusting.
Your argument however is also ignorant. He wasn't there, therefore he shouldn't necessarily take your side either.
You're attacking him for defending the store and the basis for your argument is hypocritical.
weak...
No one asked him to take my side, troll. I was simply stating what happened. I never said that someone had to agree with me, just that they did not have the knowledge to disagree.
I hope that satisfies you -
Troll.
It's not true that if you can see the camera, the camera can see you. That's ridiculous, actually.
If the fitting room door is shut, the camera can not see you. Also, half of the domes on the ceiling aren't real cameras. Not going to tell you the trick how to tell the difference ;-)
Furthermore, why would you believe a 17 year old girl that steals. Obviously she would also lie.
The loss prevention would not show a shoplifter a video under any circumstances, and you really don't even need a camera to tell that she stole. Count what she took in, what she left behind, and what's in her hand. Is anything missing?
Lol
If you really think you're being filmed in a
fitting room, call police and let them investigate, because it is illegal. Instead of making absurd and unfounded claims.
Actually 37 states allow department stores to have cameras in the dressing rooms. It is perfectly legal.
Of course you believe a 17 year old. Haven't you ever heard Judge Judy say the way to tell if a teenager is lying, is when their mouth is moving? If you stop and think you would wonder exactly how this girl saw a video of herself undressing, unless she got caught in the process of shoplifting and was taken back to the office and shown the video.
That is the only way she could have seen it.
You are also jumping to conclusions about the cameras, they could be fake ones that are their as a deterrent against shoplifting.
She did get caught stealing. That is how she saw the video.
Does that make it ok? I don't steal. Should I be watched while changing? I think not.
There was a news story about another Khols where this happened as well. You obviously replied with the intent on disproving this - and you cannot. People have no reason to make such things up. It serves no purpose.
Neither does being rude online just because you are anonymous. This happened - you being rude does not change the fact. How horrible I must be to try and warn people! The world is awful and everyone lies right?
Don't be so negative.
People can shop where they wish - but we have the right to decide if we want to shop where this happens. You can say this doesn't happen - but that doesn't make you right.
I don't need to see you or know anything about you. There is no photo of you.
Nobody online wants to see your photo. You are delusional.
Thank you anonymous - that was really beneficial to the topic. I appreciate your educated feedback.
Several other people have had the same experience. Your comments are quite odd.
